Concept Car of the Week: Chrysler Atlantic (1995)

The Atlantic concept was arguably one of the first retro-remakes, starting a trend soon followed by cars like the Alfa Romeo Nuvola and the Renault Fiftie. The story began at the 1994 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where Chrysler president Bob Lutz and Chrysler design chief Tom Gale served together as judges. Presented on the lawn around the clubhouse were a variety of old and new concept cars, contrasting with the classic cars to be judged.

Nissan Celebrates 80 Years

Nissan held a little gathering at its Yokohama headquarters two nights before the Tokyo Motor Show opened to celebrate 80 years of building cars. It has been making them longer than any other Japanese manufacturer. CEO Carlos Ghosn, who can do everything except maybe juggle, addressed a crowd of several hundred executives, suppliers, car club members and even some media, giving his remarks in what sounded like pretty good Japanese.

Jaguar has announced 2012 revisions to the XK coupe and convertible - chiefly concerned with bringing it into line with the XKR-S. 2012 Jaguar XK: the lowdown Changes on the XK are more subtle than the refreshed 2011 Jaguar XF, and share some elements with the range-topping XKR-S which was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva motor show.
